Robert Greenwald, P. Eng., MBA,

President

 

 

Robert is the Principal and President of  Prism  Engineering which he joined in 1991.

Robert has a passion for energy management and over the course of his first two decades in the industry, has conducted hundreds of energy audits, assessed countless energy management opportunities, developed dozens of high-level Energy Management Plans, and facilitated the design, specification and implementation of scores of building retrofits.

Robert helped develop Prism’s Utility Monitoring and Analysis (PUMA) database to allow businesses and government agencies to better track and tame utility costs. He has also taken on the key role of Energy Coach for several clients to support and sustain their organizational energy management programs.

Robert is the recipient of numerous awards for his work from the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (APEGBC), The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and BC Hydro.

Len Horvath, M.Sc.

Past - President

 

 

Len is the President and owner of Quantum Lighting, Inc., a B.C.-based lighting design and electrical contracting firm, servicing the commercial and industrial building industry in western Canada.

Len has over 45 years of experience in the industry involving building design, construction, operations and maintenance, including a 25-year career with BC Telecom (now Telus) where he was responsible for their building and real estate division.

His overall knowledge of building design and construction as well as operations and maintenance provides him with a unique insight into identifying energy improvement opportunities beyond his lighting specialty.

Because of his industry leadership, Len is often called upon to be a speaker at major conferences for organizations such as the Canadian Health Engineering Society, Educational Facilities Management Association, Buildex Conferences, and BC Hydro Power Smart Forums.

David Craig, B. App. Sc., CA

Vice President-Secretary/Treasurer

 

 

David is President of Consolidated Management Consultants Ltd. (1995) which provides energy consulting services to public and private sector clients and First Nation organizations.

David has over 40 years experience as an executive, officer, and member of Boards of Directors of public institutions, private companies and non-profit organizations including holding positions as President, Secretary/Treasurer, Finance Committee Chair, and Audit Committee Chair.

David is Executive Director of Commercial Energy Consumers Association of BC (2002) providing regulatory and advocacy representation for the commercial sector; Vice President of BC Advanced Conservation and Efficiency Association (2013) advocating for enhanced conservation and efficiency in BC; and is currently the Policy Chair for the BC Chamber  of Commerce (2011). From 1974 to 1995.  David was employed at BC Hydro Power & Authority in various management capacities.

 

 

 

Penny Cochrane

Director

 

 

Penny is a senior consultant at Willis Energy Services, an energy management and engineering consultancy firm.  Previously, she spent several years with BC Hydro.

Penny’s career has focused on strategic and energy resource planning for utilities and large energy users.  After more than 25 years providing demand side management planning and programming for utilities and energy users, Penny is keen to be part of the BC Advanced Conservation and Efficiency Association.

Penny is a Director and Past Chair of the Pacific Energy Innovation Association, and is a member and Chair of the Canadian Institute of Energy (BC).

Ryan Coleman

Director

Ryan is the Founder/CEO of Ecolighten Energy Solutions, a BC-based company dedicated to helping Government, Utilities and Homeowners find new solutions to using energy more wisely in our homes.

 

With over fifteen (15) years’ experience working in the private and public sector and solely focused in the energy efficiency space, Ryan is passionate about clean energy solutions. Ryan has extensive experience in residential energy services by designing and delivering energy efficiency programs for government and utility customers.

 

Before founding Ecolighten Energy Solutions, Ryan developed his experience and expertise working in variety of roles for leading energy companies in Canada, UK and Ireland including BC Hydro, Terasen Gas, Eaga plc and Carillion plc.

Brittany Coughlin

Director

Brittany Coughlin is a professional engineer and energy specialist with RDH Building Engineering Ltd.  Throughout her career, Brittany has assisted building developers, designers, builders, owners, and occupants in reducing the energy and environmental footprint of their facilities.  Brittany has provided energy efficiency and green building consulting services for many new construction and existing building projects.  She has also been a lead researcher and author of several major industry research studies to advance the understanding of energy and building science issues.  Brittany has authored numerous conference papers and presented conferences across North America on topics related to energy consumption and conservation in buildings.

Brittany is a graduate of the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor in Systems Design Engineering and a Master’s in Civil Engineering.  She is also an ASHRAE Building Energy Modeling Professional (BEMP) and a Certified Passive House Consultant (CPHC).

Christine Gustafson

Director

Christine Gustafson is an energy management engineering professional with 15 years of experience in public and private practice. She loves to help people think about energy use and how to use it in a more rational and optimal way. As Principal at Harbourgreene Consulting Inc., Christine creates a dialogue for energy issues, develops progressive strategy, designs innovative plans, and leads program implementation with integrity and a strong work ethic. Her experience is grounded technical practice; modeling conservation potential, developing conservation programs, conducting energy audits and designing energy efficient systems for buildings.

Christine holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (UVic 2002) and a Master of Business Administration with a specialization in Executive Leadership (Royal Roads 2009). She has been a registered Professional Engineering with APEGBC since 2007.
